After shooting down claims that the video was due to debut Monday, February 9, Swift confirmed on her social media accounts that the release is actually slated for the eve of Valentine’s Day. That date, the 13th, also possesses Swift’s favorite number.<\/p>\n
While a Friday release does not represent an optimal strategy for amassing Billboard Hot 100 points (since it falls late in the tracking week), Swift fans will doubtfully care about the lack of gamesmanship. They are getting the video for her third “1989” single this week.<\/p>\n
Plus, if the video lives up to expectations, it will remain hot for more than a few days.
