iHeartRadio today announced that Tori Kelly’s “Nobody Love” is its new “On the Verge” selection for the pop format. The song formally impacts radio this week.<\/p>\n
Not simply a recognition of Kelly’s ability, the “On the Verge” distinction also comes with guaranteed airplay from the pop format’s iHeartMedia stations.<\/p>\n
The “On the Verge” airplay boost helped thrust eventual #1 hits like Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)” and Nick Jonas’ “Jealous” onto the radar and now assures Tori Kelly will not simply be an artist pop fans hear about<\/i> but one they actually hear.<\/p>\n
While the Max Martin co-write represents a departure from the sound featured on her previous EPs, Kelly tells iHeartMedia that it is very consistent with her overall vision.<\/p>\n
“In my head, this is the style of music I always envisioned myself doing: urban pop with a hip-hop type of Lauryn Hill twist on it,” says Kelly. “I was always a singer first, then the guitar made its way in on its own. A song like \u2018Nobody Love\u2019 was always the vision. This is where I knew I would end up.”<\/p>\n
