Everything–sales, streaming and airplay–came together beautifully for Maroon 5’s new single “Sugar,” and the result shows on the Billboard Hot 100. It starts at #8 on the all-encompassing listing.<\/p>\n

While no fellow newcomer made that sort of splash, others did score solid debuts.<\/p>\n

The next strongest start came from Kelly Clarkson’s “Heartbeat Song,” which begins its run at #37. The track is her first Top 40 hit since 2012’s “Catch My Breath.”<\/p>\n

Zac Brown Band’s “Homegrown,” which was this past week’s best-selling country song<\/a>, also starts decently on the Hot 100. It opens at #48.<\/p>\n
