While its total chart score distantly trails that of “Uptown Funk,” Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” is now hotter than all other singles. The ballad, which became Sheeran’s first top five hit on an earlier chart, reaches a new peak of #2 this week. It, meanwhile, holds at #2 on Digital Songs, rises to #3 on Streaming Songs and jumps to #7 on Radio Songs. <\/p>\n
Taylor Swift’s former multi-week #1 “Blank Space” slips to #3. It remains one place ahead of Hozier’s “Take Me to Church,” which is down to #4.<\/p>\n
Swift then claims a second top five single courtesy “Shake it Off.” The lead “1989” single rises to #5 on the strength of the chart’s biggest streaming gain. That gain is owed to the video of Master Cpl. Jeff Davis lip-syncing to the track while driving.<\/p>\n
Meghan Trainor’s “Lips are Movin” follows at #6. Sam Smith’s “I’m Not the Only One” then takes #7, while Maroon 5’s “Sugar” rockets into the #8 slot.
