For the past seven weeks, the Billboard Hot 100 has featured Taylor Swift’s “Blank Space” at the top of its chart.<\/p>\n
This week, it vacates that leadership position and thus creates a literal blank space on the chart. Mark Ronson’s “Uptown Funk (featuring Bruno Mars)” writes its name.<\/p>\n
Benefiting immensely from a monstrous sales week, which saw the track command 382,000 paid downloads, “Funk” rises one place to #1. In dethroning Taylor Swift’s successful “1989” single, “Uptown Funk” gives Mark Ronson his first Hot 100 #1 and Bruno Mars his sixth.<\/p>\n
“Blank Space” slips to #2 on this week’s chart.<\/p>\n
