Indicated by their ascents to new highs on the Billboard Hot 100, Fifth Harmony’s “Sledgehammer,” Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” and Meghan Trainor’s “Dear Future Husband” enjoyed monstrous Christmas week sales gains.<\/p>\n
“Sledgehammer,” which became Fifth Harmony’s first top 40 hit courtesy its positioning at #40, enjoyed a weekly sales gain of 277%. The week’s 28th-best-selling digital single, “Sledgehammer” drove 85,000 paid downloads.<\/p>\n
“Bad Blood,” which rose to a new high of #78 on the Hot 100, also benefited from surging sales interest. The track moved 60,000 copies during Christmas week, which represents a 268% increase over the prior frame’s count.<\/p>\n
Swift’s Hot 100 chart-topper “Blank Space” (503,000, +121%) also enjoyed a weekly boost.<\/p>\n
Trainor, who co-wrote the aforementioned “Sledgehammer,” also enjoyed massive gains for her own recordings. “Dear Future Husband,” a standout from her “Title” EP and LP, commanded 57,000 Christmas week downloads. That weekly gain of 205% helped the song rise to a new peak of #64 on the Hot 100.<\/p>\n
Fellow Trainor album track “Title” nearly enjoyed its own 3x sales gain. The track, which debuted at #100 on the Hot 100, moved 32,000 weekly copies (+197%).<\/p>\n
Official Meghan Trainor singles “Lips are Movin” (339,000 weekly downloads, +122%) and “All About That Bass” (237,000, +180%) also enjoyed huge sales boosts.
