As of this week, however, any ambiguity is gone: “Blank Space” is indeed the longest-reigning chart-topper of Swift’s career.<\/p>\n
The blockbuster release earns its fifth consecutive week atop the all-encompassing Hot 100.<\/p>\n
A force on the three major chart components–radio, sales and streaming (due to its video)–“Blank Space” is an undeniable smash. It also serves to provide further evidence in support of the notion that Swift’s transition into the realm of pure pop was a strategically and commercially successful one.<\/p>\n
