While it had no prayer of commanding the same level of interest as 2013’s “The Sound of Music Live,” there was no reason why Thursday’s “Peter Pan Live!” should have been expected to turn away a significant quantity of viewers at progressed.<\/p>\n
A strong “Peter Pan” broadcast should have been expected to captivate–and hold–its initial audience.<\/p>\n
It did not.<\/p>\n
After posting a 2.7 adults 18-49 rating with 11.36 million viewers from 8-8:30PM ET and then rising to a 2.8 rating (but slipping to 10.81 million viewers) from 8:30-9PM ET, “Pan” took a hit in each of its subsequent four half hours.<\/p>\n
It drew a 2.5 with 9.64 million viewers from 9-9:30PM, followed by a 2.3 with 8.60 million from 9:30-10PM. Its final two half hours registered at 2.0\/7.37 million and 1.8\/6.99 million, respectively.<\/p>\n
While “The Sound of Music Live!” adhered to a similar trajectory, it demonstrated better retention across its three hours.<\/p>\n
