The sales outlook for Garth Brooks’ “Man Against Machine” has once again weakened.<\/p>\n
As of late Thursday afternoon, Hits Daily Double says the industry is eying a bow in the 120-130,000 range. Down significantly from the 250-300,000 sum that was expected when the week kicked off, the tally also trails the revised 125-145,000 guess that emerged Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Sales data from Brooks’ GhostTunes, which has exclusive digital distribution rights for “Man,” has yet to be reported, but the belief is that purchasing on the platform will not be enough to dramatically move the needle.<\/p>\n
“Man Against Machine” will rank as the week’s third-hottest newcomer and fourth-hottest album.<\/p>\n
Taylor Swift’s “1989” is due to score a third week atop the overall Billboard 200. Current projections have the album moving between 300,000 and 325,000 sales this week, which means it will flirt with the 2 million mark after just three weeks of availability.<\/p>\n
Going into this week’s sales battle, the “1989” total stood at 1.689 million.<\/p>\n
Foo Fighters’ new “Sonic Highways” will follow with 185-200,000 first week copies, while Pink Floyd’s “The Endless River” will best the Brooks album with 155-170,000 sales.<\/p>\n
