Both, however, enjoyed improvements in the final ratings report.<\/em><\/p>\n

9PM freshman “Jane the Virgin,” which was quickly secured for a full season amid modest ratings but solid reviews, enjoyed an improved 0.5 adults 18-49 rating with 1.22 million viewers this week.<\/em><\/p>\n

Contribution to that gain likely came from 8PM drama “The Originals.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The lead-in sophomore posted a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating, which marked a 40% uptick over last week’s mark.\u00a0 Viewership for the episode clocked in at 1.46 million.<\/em><\/p>\n

The translation between performance in the overnight metered markets and final broadcast performance in adults 18-49 and total viewership is always imperfect, and that imperfection has been particularly noticeable for The CW’s series this season.<\/p>\n

But to the extent that the overnights provide any indication of performance, they reflect that “Jane the Virgin” held steady once again, while “The Originals” enjoyed an uptick.<\/p>\n

Monday’s “Jane” delivered a 0.9 overnight household rating for the third consecutive week. Both previous 0.9 household ratings translated into 0.4 marks in the adults 18-49 demographic.<\/p>\n

“The Originals,” which led into “Jane,” posted an improved 1.2 overnight household rating.
