Its viewership average of 1.59 million narrowly bests the 1.58 million attracted by last week’s broadcast.<\/em><\/p>\n

The CW’s “Reign,” which did not receive an adjustment, scored a 0.4 adults 18-49 rating this week.\u00a0 That trails last week’s 0.5.<\/em><\/p>\n

Indicative of a different skew, “Reign” nonetheless enjoyed a viewership increase this week.\u00a0 Its average of 1.33 million bests the 1.23 million earned last wek.<\/em><\/p>\n

Update:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>While an uptick in the overnights properly signposted a rise in total viewers, The CW’s “Reign” actually slipped in the adults 18-49 rating this week.<\/em><\/p>\n

Per fast national data, Thursday’s “Reign” drew a 0.4 rating with 1.33 million viewers.\u00a0 Last week’s episode posted a 0.5 with 1.23 million in the finals.<\/em><\/p>\n

Lead-in “The Vampire Diaries,” which also commanded an improved overnight household rating, potentially slipped in both columns.\u00a0 Last week’s episode drew a 0.8 adults 18-49 rating with 1.58 million viewers in the finals.\u00a0 This week’s posted a 0.7 with 1.56 million in the fast nationals.<\/em><\/p>\n

“TVD,” however, tends to receive noteworthy adjustments in the final broadcast report.\u00a0 Judgment, therefore, is best held off until that data goes to print later this evening.<\/em><\/p>\n

It will withhold celebration until numbers for the women 18-34, adults 18-49 and total viewership categories emerge, but The CW can at least cautiously smile in response to the overnight metered market ratings for Thursday.<\/p>\n

Both 9PM drama “Reign” and 8PM lead-in “The Vampire Diaries” enjoyed slight upticks.<\/p>\n

After posting a 0.9 last week, “Reign” delivered an improved 1.0 overnight household rating this time. But as a testament to the fact that the overnight improvement might not manifest in the final ratings report, last week’s episode ended up drawing a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating despite posting a 0.9 in the overnights.<\/p>\n

Earlier this season, an episode that drew a 1.0 in the overnights scored only a 0.4 in the adults 18-49 demo.<\/p>\n

“The Vampire Diaries,” which led into “Reign,” posted a 1.5 overnight household rating this week.
