Update 4: <\/strong>Taylor Swift’s “1989” will debut with an opening week sales total of more than 1 million<\/a>.\u00a0 She will be the first Soundscan-era artist to score three such opening weeks.<\/em><\/p>\n

Update 3: <\/strong><\/em>Expected to sell between 800,000 and 1,000,000 copies as an entire album (Billboard is now specifically projecting at least 900,000), Taylor Swift’s “1989” has also sent its individual tracks roaring up the iTunes all-genre sales chart.<\/p>\n

The most anticipated album of the year is officially here, and it predictably claims the number one spot on the iTunes album sales chart.<\/p>\n

In a league of its own from a sales standpoint, Taylor Swift’s new “1989” should hold the #1 spot for the duration of the week. Those closest in position–but still very distant as far as total sales go–include Sam Hunt’s #2 “Montevallo,” Trip Lee’s #3 “Rise,” Black Veil Brides’ #4 “Black Veil Brides” and Dillon Francis’ #5 “Money Sucks, Friends Rule.”<\/p>\n

Not simply appealing as a collection, “1989” is also spurring significant interest in its individual tracks. As of 4:30AM ET–just over five hours after the album’s official iTunes debut–all thirteen songs from “1989” were within the Top 100 of the all-genre single sales chart.<\/p>\n

While not caught up to previously released tracks “Shake it Off” (#1), “Welcome to New York” (#3) and “Out of the Woods” (#6), particularly notable movers from the balance of the album include “Blank Space” (#29), “Style” (#32) and “Wildest Dreams” (#38).<\/p>\n
