Update:\u00a0<\/strong>Sunday’s final Nielsen broadcast ratings are in, and while they are more favorable to ABC’s dramas, they do not change the fact that “Resurrection” hit a series low<\/em><\/p>\n

“Resurrection,” that drama, saw its adults 18-49 rating adjusted up to a 1.5 and its viewership elevated to 5.55 million. Both numbers, however, still represent series lows for the sophomore drama.<\/em><\/p>\n

Other ABC ratings for Sunday: \u00a0“America’s Funniest Home Videos” (1.2, 5.46 million), “Once Upon a Time” (2.7, 7.92 million) and “Revenge” (1.2, 4.66 million).<\/em><\/p>\n

Update:<\/b> When it came to the overnight household ratings, one of ABC’s Sunday dramas enjoyed an uptick.<\/em><\/p>\n

When it came to the adults 18-49 numbers and total viewership numbers, none was so lucky. All three of the series fell Sunday night.<\/p>\n

Leading out of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (1.2 adults 18-49 rating, 5.49 million viewers), ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” opened with a 2.6 and 7.73 million viewers. Compared to last week’s final broadcast data, “Once” was down by 21% in the demo and 16% in the total viewership column.<\/p>\n

9PM entry “Resurrection,” which aired against the season premiere of “The Walking Dead,” took an even bigger tumble. It fell a whopping 30% to score a mere 1.4 adults 18-49 rating. Its viewership average of 5.47 million, meanwhile, trailed last week’s mark by 19%.<\/p>\n

“Revenge,” which aired at 10PM, drew a 1.2 with 4.59 million. Its rating was down by 14%, while its viewership average trailed that of last week by 13%.

It was not dramatic, but movement did affect all three of ABC’s Sunday night dramas in the overnight household ratings.<\/p>\n

For “Once Upon a Time” and “Resurrection,” that movement was in a downward direction. “Once” slipped by 7% to settle at a 4.6 overnight household rating, while “Resurrection” dipped by 5% to land at a 3.6.<\/p>\n

“Revenge,” on the other hand, benefited from a slight uptick. It rose by 9% to settle at a 3.7.<\/p>\n

Despite their closeness in the overnight household ratings, “Resurrection” routinely beats “Revenge” by a comfortable margin in adults 18-49. There is therefore no reason to believe the “Revenge” advantage in the overnight household number will translate into a similar victory among young adults.<\/p>\n

And, as a general rule, there is no reason to assume that any of the movement in the overnights will be replicated in the adults 18-49 and total viewership numbers. That data will emerge this afternoon.<\/p>\n
