Despite receiving weakened lead-in support, the second episode of MTV’s new comedy “Happyland” drew a larger audience than the premiere.<\/p>\n

Even with last week’s 0.2 adults 18-49 rating, Tuesday’s “Happyland” garnered an improved 434,000 viewers. That bests last week’s viewership count by 3%.<\/p>\n

Admirable in any context, the week two growth is particularly impressive given the fact that lead-in “Faking It” drew a smaller audience this week. After boosting last week’s “Happyland” premiere with a 0.4 rating and 751,000 viewers last week, this Tuesday’s edition of the 10:30PM comedy managed a 0.3 rating with 729,000 viewers.<\/p>\n

“Faking It” was itself a victim of reduced support this week. 10PM comedy “Awkward,” which MTV announced will end after next season<\/a>, slipped to a 0.5 adults 18-49 rating with 949,000 viewers this week.<\/p>\n

Last week’s installment garnered a 0.6 rating with a considerably stronger viewership average of 1.253 million.<\/p>\n
