Update: <\/strong>Thanks to an upward adjustment in the finals, the adults 18-49 rating for Tuesday’s “Agents of SHIELD” no longer represents a sole series low.\u00a0 It instead ties a low mark delivered last season.<\/em><\/p>\n

The ABC drama’s final live+same-day viewership average of 5.05 million does, however, represent a new bottom.<\/em><\/p>\n

While the episode’s anticipated success on DVR will ultimately lead to an improved portrait, “Agents of SHIELD” once again struggled to attract viewers for its live broadcast.<\/p>\n

Tuesday’s episode, which was the second installment of the second season, drew a series low 1.7 adults 18-49 rating with 4.54 million viewers. The performance trailed that of last week’s broadcast, which drew a 2.1 rating with 5.98 million viewers.<\/p>\n

Prior to Tuesday’s installment, “SHIELD” had never attracted less than 5 million viewers for an original telecast.<\/p>\n

ABC led into its 9PM drama with comedies “Selfie” (1.4, 4.88 million) and “Manhattan Love Story” (1.3, 4.27 million).
