Katy Perry’s “This is How We Do” might be off to a solid start at pop radio<\/a>, but its initial welcome at the Hot Adult Contemporary format was far from warm.<\/p>\n

According to Mediabase, “This is How We Do” landed at just four monitored stations in conjunction with its impact this week. A surprisingly low total for a Katy Perry release — or really any medium- or high-profile launch — it was not even enough to render “This is How We Do” as one of the format’s ten most-added songs this week.<\/p>\n

Vance Joy’s crossover attempt “Riptide,” which recently reached #1 on Mediabase’s alternative chart, Billboard’s rock airplay chart and Billboard’s alternative airplay chart, also got off to a slow start. Like the Perry song, it received pickups from just four Hot AC stations in conjunction with its impact.<\/p>\n

Leading the charge this week were strong holdover efforts from Meghan Trainor (“All About That Bass”), Colbie Caillat (“Try”), Echosmith (“Cool Kids”) and Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj (“Bang Bang”).
