Vance Joy’s “Riptide” officially dethrones the Big Data tune on the published edition of Mediabase’s weekly alternative radio chart. It garnered 2,682 plays between August 3 and August 9, which bests the “Dangerous” spin count by 80.<\/p>\n
It also won the audience race with 11.76 million impressions compared to 10.98 million for the previous number one.<\/p>\n
“Riptide'”s ascent to number one comes just as the song, which is pegged as a potential crossover hit, makes its official impact at Hot Adult Contemporary radio.<\/p>\n
