While the song’s spin count of 753 was only the format’s 42nd-largest for the seven days ending August 2, it had enough “chart points” to reach #40 on Sunday evening’s published chart.<\/p>\n
It is far too early to know whether “Girl in a Country Song” will become a legitimate smash at radio, but the song is definitely off to a solid start. Its week-over-week spin gain of 278 was the largest for any song below #29 on the country chart and the format’s 15th-largest overall.<\/p>\n
