Not simply sales powerhouses, the top two songs on iTunes are also making explosive gains on the pop radio airplay chart.<\/p>\n
Both Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass” and Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj’s “Bang Bang” now rank within pop radio’s Top 25.<\/p>\n
The second-best seller on iTunes, Trainor’s “All About That Bass” received 2,317 spins and 11.48 million audience impressions between July 25 and July 31. It was the format’s 24th-most-played song during that period.<\/p>\n
The song’s week-over-week spin gain of 958 represented the seventh largest at the pop format.<\/p>\n
iTunes leader “Bang Bang,” meanwhile, required just three days of airplay to become the week’s 25th-most-played song at pop. It has received 2,281 spins since debuting on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Its audience impression count of 20.75 million was the 20th-largest during the aforementioned seven day period.<\/p>\n
On an explosive first week rise, “Bang Bang” will likely overtake “All About That Bass” on the airplay chart by Saturday. Both songs, however, will continue making moves on the chart in the weeks to come.<\/p>\n
They will also make impressive splashes on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n
“All About That Bass,” which hit a new high of #28 on the Hot 100 this week, is flirting with an impending jump into the Top 20. Thanks to its explosive first week of sales, airplay and streaming, “Bang Bang” is poised to arrive in the Top 10 when it debuts on the chart next week.<\/p>\n

— Maroon 5’s “Maps” leapfrogs Calvin Harris’ “Summer” to claim a new high of #6 on the rolling pop radio airplay chart.<\/p>\n
— Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap,” however, could soon overtake the Maroon 5 song. Rising at twice the rate, “Boom Clap” hits #8 on the latest edition of the chart and could be just a day or two away from reaching #6. It is a virtual lock to at least claim #7 on Saturday’s chart.<\/p>\n
— Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” hits a new high of #22.<\/p>\n
