NBC announced Wednesday that “Girls” star and “classically trained singer” Allison Williams will play the title role in its upcoming “Peter Pan Live!” special.<\/p>\n
She joins the cast alongside Christopher Walken, whom NBC previously confirmed as the iconic Captain Hook.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true,\u201d said Williams. “It\u2019s such an honor to be a part of this adventure, and I\u2019m very excited to get to work with this extraordinarily talented team. And besides,\u201d added Williams, “what could go wrong in a live televised production with simultaneous flying, sword fighting and singing?”<\/p>\n
Touting Williams as a “major find,” executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron jointly said, “She will reinvent the iconic role of Peter Pan with her wit, her warmth, her dynamic flying and her wonderful musical abilities. The score will be sung beautifully and introduced to a whole new generation of families.”<\/p>\n
