Believing it can follow in the footsteps of “Cruise” and avoid the wave of disappointment that drowned “Drink to That All Night,” Republic is apparently gearing to launch a pop remix of Brantley Gilbert’s “Bottoms Up.”<\/p>\n
The remix, which features a brief rap verse from T.I., garnered a “Cool New Music” mention from the Mediabase\/All Access industry resource. No impact date has been announced, but the song will presumably go for pop radio adds in the near future.<\/p>\n
Featuring a new, hip-hop-leaning drum loop and a muted guitar track, the remix aims to make the #1 country smash accessible to a new audience. TI’s 22-second verse replaces the original guitar solo.<\/p>\n
Prior to emergence of the remix, the original version of “Bottoms Up” had garnered adds from a handful of Hot Adult Contemporary stations. The remix is an opportunity to accelerate the crossover process.<\/p>\n
Predicting the success is tricky.
