Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap” is hot on its heels, but for the time being, Demi Lovato’s “Really Don’t Care (featuring Cher Lloyd)” commands a place in the top 10 at pop radio.<\/p>\n
According to Mediabase, “Really Don’t Care” was pop’s 10th-most-played song for the seven days ending July 19. It should hold onto that position when Mediabase issues its official, published report Sunday evening.<\/p>\n
The song becomes the third pop radio top ten from Lovato’s “DEMI” album. The album’s “Heart Attack” and “Neon Lights” also reached the top ten on Mediabase’s chart.<\/p>\n
Its current stint in the top ten is, however, under significant fire.<\/p>\n
The aforementioned “Boom Clap,” which rises to #11 on the latest edition of Mediabase’s rolling chart, scored only 137 fewer pop spins during the measured period. Gaining airplay at a faster rate (it is up 1443 spins this week, while Lovato’s “Don’t Care” gained 897), “Boom Clap” will likely close the gap within a day or two.<\/p>\n
Once that happens, “Really Don’t Care” will wait in the wings until Iggy Azalea’s free-falling “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” slips out of the top ten.
