As projected, Trey Songz’ “Trigga” debuts atop the weekly Billboard 200 album sales chart.<\/p>\n
While the opening week sales tally of 105,000 marks a decline from the 135,000 moved by predecessor “Chapter V,” it was enough to secure “Trigga” the number one spot. It follows the aforementioned “Chapter V” in becoming Songz’ second number one album.<\/p>\n
Ed Sheeran’s “x,” which led last week’s chart with sales of more than 200,000, slips to #2 with 53,000 on this week’s Billboard 200.<\/p>\n
Sam Smith’s “In the Lonely Hour” claims #3 with 45,000, while Seether’s “Isolate and Medicate” debuts at #4 on the strength of 37,000. Like that for the Songz album, the total represents a decline from the previous album’s opening sales figure. Seether’s 2011 release “Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray” opened to 61,000 first week sales.<\/p>\n
“Frozen” lands at #5 with 37,000, while MAGIC!’s “Don’t Kill the Magic” gets off to a stronger than expected debut at #6. Its sales tally clocks in at 36,000.<\/p>\n
Miranda Lambert’s “Platinum” claims #7 with 25,000, while Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” settles for #8 with just under 25,000.
