When it comes to her first post-“The Voice” album release, season five winner Tessanne Chin is poised to perform more like season one winner Javier Colon than respective season three and four winners Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery.<\/p>\n
Based on the latest available sales data from Hits Daily Double, Tessanne’s new album “Count On My Love,” which released Tuesday, will not break the top fifteen on next week’s album sales chart.<\/p>\n
Precise forecasts for the album are not available, but insofar as it would need a weekly sales count of only 15-17,000 to secure a place in that group, it is obviously on track to flop at retail. According to the latest HITS update, Coldplay’s “Ghost Stories” and the “Jersey Boys” soundtrack are tracking to land at the bottom of the top 15 with sales in the aforementioned 15-17,000 range.<\/p>\n
After watching its first two winners struggle commercially–Javier Colon’s album “Come Through My Love” moved slightly less than 10,000 copies in its first week and season two winner Jermaine Paul did not even release an album–“The Voice” enjoyed respectable openings for the Pope and Bradbery releases.<\/p>\n
Neither was as successful as the albums released by most “American Idol” winners, but with 43,000 and 41,000 first week sales, respectively, Pope’s “Frame by Frame” and Bradbery’s “Danielle Bradbery” were not considered failures.<\/p>\n
As of press time, Chin’s new album is only #36 on the iTunes Album Sales chart.<\/p>\n
Hits Daily Double projects Trey Songz’ “Trigga” to reign as the week’s best-selling album with sales in the 90-100,000 range.
