Echosmith’s first trip to the Top 40<\/a> on Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart was short-lived.<\/p>\n

As projected by Headline Planet, Florida Georgia Line’s “This is How We Roll” remix, which features Jason DeRulo, leapfrogs Echosmith’s “Cool Kids” on the chart dated June 28.<\/p>\n

The 40th-most-played song for the seven days ending June 27, “Roll” earned 966 spins and an audience of 6.01 million impressions, according to the latest data from Mediabase. While its spin count only exceeded Echosmith’s “Cool Kids” by 32 for the measured period, it is gaining airplay at nearly twice the rate.<\/p>\n

Its audience is also considerably larger; Echosmith’s song reached just 3.62 million during the same time frame.<\/p>\n

“Cool Kids” will, nonetheless, return to the Top 40 once 5 Seconds of Summer’s rapidly declining “She Looks So Perfect” falls out of that group. The corresponding slip and bump could happen as early as tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Not yet being amply supported by the major Top 40 stations in New York, Los Angeles or Chicago, “Roll” is reaching a significant audience via Dallas’ 106.1 KISS FM. Over the past seven days, the song garnered an estimate 1.53 million impressions from 52 spins on the station.<\/p>\n

Atlanta’s Power 96.1 provided 600,000 impressions from 63 spins.<\/p>\n

While it is ascending less explosively than FGL’s previous country crossover “Cruise (featuring Nelly),” “Roll” is significantly outpacing a new, competitive effort from Jerrod Niemann. The remix of his country radio #1 “Drink to that All Night,” which features Pitbull, has thus far struggled to take flight at pop radio.<\/p>\n

— One song certainly not struggling to take flight is Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap.” The 30th-most-played song for the seven days ending June 27, “Boom Clap” gained spins at the format’s fifth-largest rate. Only Maroon 5’s #18 song “Maps” (+2319), Nico and Vinz’ #3 “Am I Wrong” (+1903), MAGIC!’s #5 “Rude” (+1834) and Sam Smith’s #9 “Stay With Me” (+1428) enjoyed a weekly spin gain larger than the 1287 earned by Charli XCX’s breakthrough solo effort.<\/p>\n

— Fueled by the support of iHeartRadio’s On the Verge Program, Clean Bandit’s international hit “Rather Be (featuring Jess Glynne)” is continuing to build steam. Up an impressive 616 spins week-to-week, the song reaches #35 on the latest airplay chart.<\/p>\n
