The Recording Industry Association of America announced Thursday that Katy Perry has been recognized as the most awarded digital act in the history of its Gold & Platinum awards program.<\/p>\n
According to the release, Perry has received a gold or platinum certification for a whopping eighteen singles. To date, her singles have produced 72 million cumulative Digital Certifications, which include paid downloads and on-demand streams.<\/p>\n
No other artist is within 20 million of that count.<\/p>\n
As of today, “Firework,” Perry’s most successful release, has gone 9x platinum. “California Gurls” and “ET” are both 7x platinum, while “Dark Horse,” “Hot N Cold” and “Teenage Dream” are all 6x platinum.<\/p>\n
Collectively, Perry has gone gold with at least 18 singles and platinum with at least 16. Her songs have also received 56 different multi-platinum awards.<\/p>\n
