While the total was the best for a new single this week, it pales in comparison to the opening week tally for “Payphone (featuring Wiz Khalifa),” which served as the lead single during the band’s previous album cycle.<\/p>\n
That single, which launched the band’s “Overexposed” project, debuted at #1 on the Digital Songs chart thanks to a whopping 493,000 paid downloads.<\/p>\n

According to Billboard, MAGIC!’s “Rude” leads the weekly charge with 210,000 purchases. Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” slips to number two on the strength of 195,000 paid downloads, while Ariana Grande’s “Problem (featuring Iggy Azalea)” holds at #3 with 162,000 sales.<\/p>\n
Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me” follows at #4 with 148,000, while Nico and Vinz’ “Am I Wrong” closes out the top five thanks to 140,000 buys.<\/p>\n
5 Seconds of Summer’s “Kiss Me Kiss Me,” the week’s second-strongest debut, follows “Maps” in seventh place (total not disclosed).
