For the second time this week, the US sales forecast for Sam Smith’s debut “In the Lonely Hour” has been adjusted up.<\/p>\n
Unfortunately for Smith, that improved estimate remains beneath the total expected of Lana Del Rey’s latest release “Ultraviolence.”<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double, Smith’s album is now tracking to move 150-160,000 copies this week. Initially pegged for a bow in the 125-150,000 range, its forecast was upgraded earlier this week to 140-160,000. The latest update says it will bow in the top half of that range.<\/p>\n
Del Rey’s album, meanwhile, should do 180-190,000 in first week sales. Initially expected to do 175-200,000, a follow-up forecast said it was on track for a 170-180,000 bow. The refined estimate also positions it for a debut in the top half of the range.<\/p>\n
Linkin Park’s “The Hunting Party” will debut in the 100-110,000 range, while Willie Nelson’s “Band of Brothers” looks safe for a 35-40,000 launch. Jennifer Lopez’ “AKA” has been adjusted down to 28-32,000, while deadmau5’s “while (1<2)” should do 27-30,000.<\/p>\n
