Christina Grimmie’s vast army of Twitter followers did more than simply keep its favorite Team Adam member in the competition. It also helped NBC’s “The Voice” set the all-time record for Tweets during a broadcast or cable television series.<\/p>\n
According to NBC, Tuesday’s “The Voice” was the subject of 1.92 million Tweets. That figure ranks as the largest since Nielsen began tracking Twitter TV activity in the fall of 2011.<\/p>\n
Always a popular social media subject, “The Voice” gains significantly more conversation for its “Instant Save” element, which invites users to Tweet support for the contestant they would like to see saved from elimination.<\/p>\n
And when one of the contestants vying for that Instant Save is Christina Grimmie, who herself has more than 500,000 Twitter followers, the concept of setting a Tweet record is absolutely not a reach.<\/p>\n
Grimmie, presumably by a landslide, bested fellow bottom three members Kat Perkins and Kristen Merlin to secure the Instant Save.
