Update:<\/b> The “Nashville” saga continues. Chris Carmack’s Tweet revealing he had some “good news about #Nashville season 3” has been deleted from his feed.<\/em>

While ABC has yet to formally comment on the status of its musical soap “Nashville,” a cast member strongly implied the show will be renewed for a third season.<\/p>\n

“Alright #Nashies good work!!! Just got some good news about #Nashville season 3,” Tweeted Chris Carmack, who plays Will Lexington on the ABC series.<\/p>\n

Assuming Carmack is not hoping for his own show’s cancellation, it is hard to imagine the “good news” referring to anything other than an impending renewal.<\/p>\n

Conspicuously omitted from ABC’s slew of renewal and cancellation announcements, “Nashville” entered Friday evening without a clear portrait of its fate.<\/p>\n

An afternoon story on Deadline.com blamed financial issues for the delay. After first citing a snag over the planned episode count–ABC wanted to book thirteen more episodes, but producers did not feel a shortened season was cost feasible–Deadline later uncovered an an issue with the show’s tax credit from the Tennessee government<\/a>.<\/p>\n
