One of pop radio’s most-added songs for two consecutive weeks, KONGOS’ “Come With Me Now” has officially climbed into the top 40 of Mediabase’s rolling airplay chart.<\/p>\n
According to the April 24 edition of the chart, which covers the seven days between April 17 and 23, the former alternative number one was Top 40 radio’s 39th-most-played song. Its jump of sixteen places from last week’s position was the largest for any song currently in the Top 50.<\/p>\n
“Come With Me Now,” the band’s breakthrough track, garnered 4.33 million Top 40 airplay impressions in the measured seven day period.<\/p>\n
While not played as frequently as the KONGOS track, “Rude,” the breakthrough from Canadian act MAGIC!, actually garnered a larger audience. Also a new favorite of radio programmers, “Rude” scored 6.653 million impressions as the 41st-most-played pop song of the past seven days. Its ascent into the top forty is imminent.<\/p>\n
Other songs battling for entry into the Top 40 include Afrojack’s “Ten Feet Tall (featuring Wrabel)” (#43), AJR’s “I’m Ready” (#45), My Crazy Girlfriend’s “Crazy Stupid Love” (#46), Chris Brown’s “Loyal (featuring Lil Wayne, French Montana, Too $hort or Tyga)” (#47), HAIM’s “Forever” (#48) and Sia’s “Chandelier” (#49).<\/p>\n
The top of the chart continues to be ruled by John Legend’s “All of Me.” Notable gainers near the Top 40 airplay chart’s peak include Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing” (up to #5), American Authors’ “Best Day of My Life” (up to #7), Avicii’s “Hey Brother” (up to #9), Paramore’s “Ain’t it Fun” (up to #11) and Ed Sheeran’s “Sing” (up to #16).<\/p>\n
Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy (featuring Charli XCX)” and Katy Perry’s “Birthday” also enjoyed big gains this week.
