The soundtrack to Disney’s juggernaut animated release is essentially “Frozen” at the top of Billboard’s weekly album sales chart.<\/p>\n
For the tenth nonconsecutive week, the “Frozen” soundtrack claims number one on the Billboard 200. And it does so in dominant fashion–its weekly count of 133,000 exceeds the total for the week’s number two album by a whopping 359%.<\/p>\n
The weekly total also pushes “Frozen” past the two million sales mark.<\/p>\n
Claiming the distant number two is Pharrell’s “G I R L,” which moved 29,000 this past week. That total, according to Billboard, is the lowest for a number two album in the Nielsen SoundScan era. That distinction previously belonged to The Foo Fighters’ “Wasting Light,” which landed in second on the strength of 34,000 sales in the spring of 2011.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the absence of strong competition, 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect” EP can claim third despite a sales decline of 82%. It moved 26,000.<\/p>\n
PMercyMe’s new release “Welcome to the New” earns fourth place–and ranks as the week’s strongest debut–on the strength of 26,000. Black Label Society’s new “Catacombs of the Black Vatican” follows in fifth with just under 26,000, while SoMo’s self-titled release nets sixth on the strength of 23,000.<\/p>\n
Martina McBride claims seventh (but number one on country) with her new covers album “Everlasting” (21,000), while fellow country act Luke Bryan enjoys an ACM-related surge to eighth for “Crash My Party” (19,000).<\/p>\n
Shakira’s self-titled album slips to ninth with 17,000 in weekly sales.
