If CBS is seriously considering moving “The Big Bang Theory” back to Monday nights while “Thursday Night Football” occupies its current night this fall, it might just be onto something.<\/p>\n
Despite airing against “The Voice” and “Dancing with the Stars,” Monday’s re-run of “The Big Bang Theory” won its 8-8:30PM timeslot in adults 18-49.<\/p>\n
Averaging a 3.0 adults 18-49 rating with 9.85 million viewers, “Big Bang” outrated competitive portions of NBC’s “The Voice” (2.9, 10.79 million) and ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” (1.9, 12.98 million).<\/p>\n
For the night as a whole, “The Voice” averaged a 3.4 with 11.76 million viewers. “Dancing with the Stars” posted a 2.1 with 13.87 million.<\/p>\n
While the 9PM broadcast of the NCAA Basketball Championship likely provided a “halo effect,” the fact that the 8:30PM pre-game show only drew a 2.1 rating suggests that the “Big Bang” re-run definitely attracted a specific audience. And if a re-run can draw well in that slot, original episodes should have no trouble reigning supreme next fall.<\/p>\n
CBS has not yet confirmed that such a move will happen, but it did strongly suggest “Big Bang” will open its season away from its usual Thursday at 8PM timeslot.
