A sign that pre-order interest overstated the market demand, 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect” EP is no longer expected to reach an opening week sales mark of 200,000.<\/p>\n
It will, however, convincingly reign as the week’s top newcomer. And if the latest round of estimates hold, it should also reign as the week’s top-selling album, period.<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double, the latest forecast calls for an opening week tally in the 150-160,000 range. Immensely impressive for a four-song EP from a band that just recently began garnering US radio and video play, the total should be enough to finally knock the “Frozen” soundtrack off the throne.<\/p>\n
Other notable new releases include Christina Perri’s “Head or Heart” and Chevelle’s “La Gargola,” both of which are expected to move 40-45,000.<\/p>\n
Dan + Shay’s “Where it All Began” should follow with 27-30,000, while Nickel Creek’s “A Dotted Line” is a safe bet for 17-20,000. The latter forecast is also in play for The Used’s “Imaginary Enemy.”<\/p>\n
