Update:<\/b> Unable to generate any momentum from its setting shift, the “New New York” edition of “Glee” tied a series low in adults 18-49.<\/p>\n

Tuesday’s episode posted a paltry 0.9 adults 18-49 rating with 2.59 million viewers. While the viewership figure bests the 2.3 million low mark set by the March 11 “City of Angels” episode, the rating mirrors the lows set by that episode and the November 28, 2013 “Puppet Master” installment.<\/p>\n

Particularly troublesome about the performance was the viewership bleed from start-to-finish. After opening with a 1.0 and 2.9 million viewers from 8-8:30PM, “Glee” slipped to a 0.8 with 2.33 million in the 8:30-9PM half hour.<\/p>\n

“The Mindy Project,” which returned to FOX’s lineup after a hiatus, posted a 1.0 with 1.88 million viewers at 9PM and a 1.0 with 1.87 million at 9:30PM.<\/em>

Dubbed “New New York,” Tuesday night’s “Glee” introduced the show’s new, post-McKinley High format. Reviews are mixed on whether it succeeded, but the setting shift certainly gives FOX’s comedy an opportunity to break its long-running affair with monotony.<\/p>\n

It did not, however, end “Glee'”s streak of poor overnight ratings.<\/p>\n

Tuesday’s episode slipped to a 2.1 overnight household rating. Down a tenth from last week’s number, the 2.1 ties a low for the series.<\/p>\n
