In garnering $15.24 million for its Friday night debut at the box office, the high-profile, costly “Noah” underwhelmed. While it will win its inaugural weekend, it will likely do so with a modest total in the low-$40 millions.<\/p>\n
“Sabotage,” the latest Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle, would kill for a label like “underwhelming.” In earning just $1.83 million Friday, the film solidifies its standing as another black spot on the former governor’s resume. Since returning to film, Schwarzenegger has bombed with “The Last Stand,” “Escape Plan” and now “Sabotage.”<\/p>\n
It placed seventh on Friday.<\/p>\n
The night’s second place position fell to “Divergent,” which earned $8.10 million on its second Friday. “Muppets Most Wanted” followed with $2.63 million, while semi-wide releases “Grand Budapest Hotel” and “God’s Not Dead” closed out the top five with $2.38 million and $2.35 million, respectively.<\/p>\n
