As radio programmers continue to fall in love with Rixton’s “Me & My Broken Heart,” two newcomers are beginning to make their own impacts at Top 40 radio.<\/p>\n
According to Mediabase, Katy Tiz’ cover of “The Big Bang” and 5 Seconds of Summer’s “She Looks So Perfect” rank as the week’s second- and third-most-added tracks at top 40.<\/p>\n
With 36 and 33 adds, their latest impacts trail only that of the aforementioned Rixton song, which picked up 37 stations this week.<\/p>\n
Written, produced and performed by Rock Mafia, the original version of “The Big Bang” made only a minor dent in the charts. It did, however, gain buzz for its video, which featured the first signs of Miley Cyrus’ maturing image.<\/p>\n
“She Looks So Perfect” is the title track from 5SOS’ EP. Set to formally street in the US next week, the EP, thanks to strong pre-orders, is expected to claim more than 200,000 opening week sales.<\/p>\n
— Calvin Harris’ “Summer” and Paramore’s “Ain’t it Fun” also had successful weeks at radio. Ranking as the Top 40 format’s fourth- and fifth-most-added, they picked up 28 and 21 new stations, respectively.<\/p>\n
