Update:<\/b> Leading out of a weakened “The Voice” (3.7 adults 18-49 rating, 13.58 million viewers), Monday’s “Believe” premiere scored a solid 2.7 with 10.70 million.<\/p>\n

Even with the 2.7 adults 18-49 rating delivered by the most recent episode of regular timeslot occupant “The Blacklist,” the number trails the 3.8 posted by that series’ September 23, 2013 premiere.<\/p>\n

That premiere, however, benefited from a stronger lead-in (a 5.1 from “The Voice”) and considerably weaker competition.<\/p>\n

Both of this Monday’s NBC broadcasts endured stiff opposition from ABC’s “The Bachelor” finale, which drew a 3.2 with 9.62 million for the 8-10PM episode and then a 3.8 with 11.00 million for the 10PM “After the Final Rose” special.<\/em>
\n======<\/p>\n

Making appropriate use of its “The Voice” lead-in, NBC’s new drama “Believe” attracted a solid sampling for its premiere Monday night.<\/p>\n

The drama, which will begin airing in its permanent Sunday at 9PM timeslot this coming weekend, scored a 6.8 overnight household rating. Representing decent household retention out of the 8.7 for “The Voice,” the number foretells a decent performance in the adults 18-49 demographic.<\/p>\n

That number will come out in the fast national report at 11:30AM.<\/p>\n

While solid, the premiere overnight number did<\/i> trail the 8.0 delivered by the post-“Voice” premiere of “The Blacklist” this fall.<\/p>\n

The true test, however, will be whether “Believe” can hold its own against ABC’s “Resurrection,” its timeslot competitor.
