FOX is no longer the only network planning to revive one of its popular drama series.<\/p>\n
In a statement to the press Saturday, NBC officially confirmed that it is reviving “Heroes” as a thirteen episode miniseries.<\/p>\n
“Heroes Reborn,” the miniseries, will premiere in 2015. Original creator and executive producer Tim Kring will return to lead the project.<\/p>\n
The network declined to reveal any other details on the high-profile project.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe enormous impact \u2018Heroes\u2019 had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening,\u201d said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. \u201cShows with that kind of resonance don\u2019t come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We\u2019re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won\u2019t rule out the possibility of some of the show\u2019s original cast members popping back in.\u201d<\/p>\n
FOX’s “24,” which once competed with NBC’s “Heroes” on Monday nights, will return to television this May as the “Live Another Day” limited event series.<\/p>\n
