Update:<\/b> Tuesday’s fast national data has been released, and it does nothing to change the early verdict for FOX’s “New Girl” and “Brooklyn Nine Nine.” They failed to derive any benefit from Sunday’s immense Super Bowl exposure.<\/p>\n

Ratings for the two shows were actually down<\/i> from their preceding Tuesday airings.<\/p>\n

Down from a 1.9 adults 18-49 rating with 3.75 million viewers, Tuesday’s “New Girl” posted a mere 1.6 with 3.48 million viewers. “Brooklyn Nine Nine” followed its previous 1.9 and 4.55 million viewers with a soft 1.4 and 3.22 million viewers in its new 9:30PM timeslot.<\/em><\/p>\n

Airing after Sunday’s record-breaking Super Bowl XLVIII, FOX’s “New Girl” and “Brooklyn Nine Nine” audiences 7.5 and 4.3 times larger than their usual, respective levels.<\/p>\n

If Tuesday’s overnights are any indication, neither show benefited from the added exposure.<\/p>\n

With just a 2.6 overnight metered market rating, Tuesday’s “New Girl” landed firmly in its usual ballpark–and actually slipped from the 2.7 posted by its previous Tuesday broadcast. Now airing out of “New Girl” at 9:30PM, “Nine Nine” delivered a similarly uninspired 2.6.<\/p>\n

Benefiting from the absence of “Agents of SHIELD,” the last Tuesday edition of “Brooklyn” delivered a notably stronger 3.1 rating.<\/p>\n
