It was not even in the running for Album of the Year, but Lorde’s “Pure Heroine” has emerged from the 56th Annual Grammy Awards cermony as the biggest winner.<\/p>\n
Fueled by Lorde’s live performance and Grammy wins for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance (all involving breakthrough single “Royals”), “Pure Heroine” is pacing to sell an impressive 65-70,000 copies this week.<\/p>\n
Enough for a fourth place finish behind the 2014 Grammy Nominees album (pacing for 90-95,000), the smash hit “Frozen” soundtrack (85-90,000) and the new Casting Crowns album “Thrive” (70-75,000), the projected tally nearly doubles the 37,000 it moved this past week.<\/p>\n
According to Hits Daily Double, which issued the projections, “Pure Heroine” is not the only beneficiary of Grammys buzz.<\/p>\n
Set to chart beneath Of Mice & Men’s new “Restoring Force” (50-55,000) and Beyonce’s “Beyonce” (which, in pacing for 40-45,000, will actually sell less than it did in the week preceding the Grammys) are Imagine Dragons’ “Night Visions” and Kacey Musgraves’ “Same Trailer Different Park.” Both are pacing to move between 30-35,000 copies.<\/p>\n
Boosted by a Grammys collaboration with Kendrick Lamar that many considered the night’s best performance, the Imagine Dragons album will enjoy a small gain over the previous week’s 23,000 count.<\/p>\n
Named the year’s Best Country Album, Musgraves’ “Same Trailer, Different Park” is experiencing a more significant surge. Set to roughly quadruple last week’s sub-9000 tally, the album is pacing for its best sales performance since moving 42,000 in its March 2013 debut.<\/p>\n
Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories,” which won the Grammy for Album of the Year, is also expected to move 30-35,000 copies this week. It sold less than 8000 last week.<\/p>\n
