In an interview taped for CMT, legendary country performer Kix Brooks explains that his breakup with Ronnie Dunn was not due to a personal conflict.<\/p>\n

“It’s too good a horse to ride it into the ground,” says Brooks, adding, “We’re still good friends. I’m proud to say we’ve never had a fight, never even yelled at each other. And that’s the truth.”<\/p>\n

Dunn added that the two have essentially become brothers after twenty years of performing together.<\/p>\n

According to Brooks, the decision to split came while working on their new album; Brooks said they both agreed, “You know what? I just think we’ve just kind of exhausted it.”<\/p>\n

The two are reportedly both working on solo albums to follow their upcoming “Number 1s and Then Some” and their 2010 farewell tour.<\/p>\n
