Update 2:<\/b> A downward adjustment in the finals meant that Thursday’s “Reign” had to settle for a scenario of stability.<\/p>\n

Thursday’s episode drew a 0.6 adults 18-49 rating with 1.74 million viewers.<\/p>\n

The previous original, which aired as the fall finale on December 12, drew a 0.6 rating with 1.86 million.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the night, “The Vampire Diaries” drew a 1.2 with 2.72 million.<\/p>\n

Update:<\/b> Crowned “Favorite New TV Drama” at the annual People’s Choice Awards, The CW’s “Reign” enjoyed an improved adults 18-49 rating for its first episode since December 12.<\/p>\n

“For King and Country,” Thursday’s “Reign,” posted a 0.7 adults 18-49 rating with 1.77 million viewers. Up a tenth from the fall finale’s 0.6 adults 18-49 rating, this week’s episode did, however, endure a slight decline from the previous episode’s 1.86 million viewer mark.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the night, “The Vampire Diaries” posted a 1.1 with 2.68 million viewers.<\/em>

While “Reign” did not emerge from hiatus as a major hit, it managed to mirror its previous performance in the overnight metered market ratings.<\/p>\n

Thursday’s “Reign,” the first since the fall finale on December 12, matched that episode’s 1.4 overnight metered market rating. Save for the premiere, which drew a 1.5, all “Reign” episodes have posted either a 1.3 or 1.4 overnight household rating.<\/p>\n

There is no guarantee the steadiness in the overnight household numbers will also manifest itself in the adults 18-49 column, but it seems unlikely the number will differ by more than a tenth from the 0.6 posted for the December 12 episode. That episode delivered 1.86 million viewers.<\/p>\n
