Update:<\/b> Monday’s time period premiere of “Intelligence” drew a disastrous 1.1 adults 18-49 rating with 6.1 million viewers. Far worse than what flop “Hostages” drew for its premiere in the timeslot, “Intelligence” already looks dead.<\/em>

While the premiere of “Intelligence” delivered solid numbers for CBS–particularly in total viewers–it did not cement the series as a blockbuster hit.<\/p>\n

And given that future episodes were to air in the Monday at 10PM timeslot without lead-in support from juggernaut “NCIS,” many anticipated future struggle for the Josh Holloway vehicle.<\/p>\n

Those pessimists have been anointed as realists.<\/p>\n

Monday’s time period premiere delivered a disappointing 4.5 overnight metered market rating. Down a whopping 56% from the 10.2 for last week’s premiere, “Intelligence” placed third in its timeslot behind ABC’s “Castle” and NBC’s “The Blacklist.”<\/p>\n

While it was not expected to beat “The Blacklist” in adults 18-49, the fact that it evidently did not even do so in households is very surprising–and troubling.<\/p>\n

Also worth noting: fall timeslot occupant “Hostages,” which was considered one of the season’s big flops, managed a 5.1 for its September premiere.<\/p>\n
