<\/a>— Disney is developing a new film adaptation of “The Diary of Anne Frank.” Acclaimed playwright David Mamet, who is writing and directing the feature, will rely on the diary–and the original play based on Frank’s story–as source material.<\/p>\n
Variety, which reported the development, added that Mamet, “brings his own original take on the material that could re-frame the story as a young girl\u2019s right of passage.”<\/p>\n
— Ed Helms, star of “The Hangover” and “The Office,” will be at the center of upcoming Universal comedy “Central Intelligence.”<\/p>\n
The film, penned by Ike Barinholtz and Dave Stassen, will serve as a starring vehicle for the comedian. It follows an accountant who gets caught up in the world of international espionage after coming in contact with an old friend on Facebook.<\/p>\n
Helms, who still stars as a regular on “The Office” was recently booked for comedy “Cedar Rapids.” He also reprises his role in “The Hangover 2.”<\/p>\n
