Update:<\/b> Alex & Sierra just achieved something unmatched by any act from this season’s “The X Factor” or rival music series “The Voice.”<\/p>\n

The duo sent a second song to the top of the iTunes single sales chart. Following in the footsteps of last week’s “Say Something,” the group’s cover of “Gravity” reached number one Thursday afternoon. No other act from either show has achieved multiple number ones, and only two others–Tessanne Chin and Matthew Schuler–can claim a single trip to the iTunes apex.<\/p>\n

At press time, Jeff Gutt’s critically acclaimed “Hallelujah” was number five on iTunes, while Alex & Sierra’s other Wednesday number “Little Talks” was 11. <\/p>\n

Other top 100 songs include Gutt’s “Demons” (#38) and Restless Road’s “Wanted” (#64).<\/em>

Like Lorde and her friends, FOX’s “The X Factor” has officially cracked the code.<\/p>\n

After failing to register on iTunes for much of its third season, “The X Factor”‘s performances have suddenly begun making massive waves.<\/p>\n

Last month, Alex and Sierra made the season’s first big impression with “Best Song Ever.” In a disappointing rarity for the show, the One Direction cover ascended into the Top 25 of the overall single sales chart.<\/p>\n

Last week, the duo took the retailer by storm. Its “Say Something” elevated to number one on iTunes, while companion performance “Say My Name” reached the Top 10. Fellow Group act Restless Road, meanwhile, made a splash of its own with “Wake Me Up.”<\/p>\n

This week, “X Factor” acts are once again clicking on iTunes. By 2AM ET–four hours after the live show ended–Alex and Sierra’s cover of the Sara Bareilles signature “Gravity” had reached number four on the single sales chart. “Hallelujah” follows at eight, giving performer Jeff Gutt his first big iTunes seller of the season.<\/p>\n

Gutt’s “Hallelujah” will probably not sell quite as well as “The Voice” contestant Matthew Schuler’s rendition did earlier this season, but insofar as “The X Factor” does not include iTunes sales in the vote total, the song’s climb into the top ten is irrefutably impressive.<\/p>\n

“Little Talks,” Alex and Sierra’s other performance this week, has reached #25 on iTunes. Gutt, also 2-for-2 as far as the iTunes Top 100 is concerned, has representation from “Demons” at number 63.<\/p>\n

Though it is not moving as well as last week’s “Wake Me Up,” Restless Road’s cover of Hunter Hayes’ “Wanted” has entered the fray. At press time, it was #86. “That’s My Kind of Night,” the trio’s other number, is presently number 200.<\/p>\n
