Following in the footsteps of “Dexter,” another recognizable Showtime original series is gearing to end its run.<\/p>\n
Showtime announced Monday that the upcoming seventh season of “Californication” will be its last. The final twelve episodes of the David Duchovny vehicle will begin airing this April.<\/p>\n

Though not a blockbuster, the Emmy- and Golden Globe-winner has performed respectably by Showtime standards. And though buzz has cooled for recent seasons, the show’s audience has not shrunk.
