Update:<\/b> Alex & Sierra’s “Say Something” has officially conquered iTunes. By 1PM ET Thursday, it had reached number one on the store’s overall single sales chart.<\/p>\n

“Say My Name,” the duo’s other performance, was also climbing the charts. It officially entered the Top 20 Thursday morning and now ranks at 19.<\/p>\n

“Best Song Ever,” the act’s previous best seller, was number sixty, while the Alex & Sierra version of “I Knew You Were Trouble” was 93. Music buyers have officially discovered the standout “X Factor” act.<\/p>\n

Restless Road’s “Wake Me Up,” meanwhile, had climbed as high as 27.<\/em>

Take that, “The Voice.”<\/p>\n

Even though the NBC reality series includes iTunes sales in the voting process, none of this week’s twelve performances ascended into the overall Top 10.<\/p>\n

It took less than three hours for one of Wednesday’s standout “The X Factor” performances to achieve the feat.<\/p>\n

And as of press time, Alex and Sierra’s rendition of “Say Something,” a song that interestingly enough broke through after original artists A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera performed it on “The Voice,” had reached as high as number five on the iTunes Single Sales chart.<\/p>\n

Easily the hottest selling “X Factor” performance of the season, “Say Something” puts another feather in the cap of the duo. Two weeks ago, Alex and Sierra’s “Best Song Ever” reached the Top 25 on iTunes, a rare accomplishment in and of itself for an “X Factor” recording.<\/p>\n

Clearly the show’s most commercially viable act, Alex and Sierra also sent another performance up the iTunes ladder. “Say My Name,” their other number from Wednesday’s Top 6 show, is currently at number 32 (their previous release “Best Song Ever” has re-entered the Top 100 at number 79).<\/p>\n

They are not, however, the only act making iTunes waves this week.
