Suggesting it read Headline Planet’s assessment of the “New Girl” ratings woes<\/a>, FOX announced Thursday plans to shake up its Tuesday comedy lineup.<\/p>\n

“New Girl” itself will not be moving, but beginning this winter, its 9PM timeslot will exist in a different landscape.<\/p>\n

On February 4, the first Tuesday after “New Girl” and “Brooklyn Nine Nine” pair for the post-Super Bowl slot, “Brooklyn Nine Nine” will shift to 9:30PM, where it will air out the rest of its inaugural season. Presently, it airs as the “New Girl” lead-in at 8:30PM.<\/p>\n

Three weeks later, “Glee,” which is struggling in the post-“X Factor” timeslot on Thursdays, will return to Tuesdays at 8PM. “Dads,” the current occupant, will conclude its in-season run with back-to-back episodes on February 11.<\/p>\n

Insofar as “Dads” will not have aired all 22 first season episodes by February 11, it appears FOX is saving some episodes for late season or summer burn-off. Consistent with that hypothesis is the fact that the network did not use the term “season finale” to describe the February 11 “Dads” episodes.<\/p>\n

A week after a special two-hour edition of “American Idol” on Tuesday, February 18, FOX will then launch its new Tuesday lineup–“Glee” at 8PM, “New Girl” at 9PM and “Brooklyn Nine Nine” at 9:30PM–on February 25. That lineup will stay intact until “Brooklyn Nine Nine” wraps its first season on March 25, at which point, “The Mindy Project” will return to conclude its second season.<\/p>\n

FOX’s press release also made another announcements. New drama “Rake” will air out of “American Idol” on Thursdays (in the current “Glee” slot), while comedy “Enlisted” will debut on Friday, January 10. No mention was made of other new series like “Gang Related.”<\/p>\n
