“The Best Man Holiday” began its run with an impressive sum, but the sum was not enough to steal the box office throne from “Thor: The Dark World.”<\/p>\n
The latter, which fell 55.1% from last week’s debut, managed to retain its number one position on the strength of $38.5 million. While its second week decline was larger than the 47.2% experienced by 2010’s “Thor,” its total is still stronger than that of the predecessor. After two weekends, “The Dark World” has earned $147.0 million; “Thor” had earned $119.5 million.<\/p>\n
“Holiday” claimed second place with $30.6 million. Solid as a lump sum, the total is even more impressive on a per-screen basis: the film earned an average of $15,115 from its 2024 screens.<\/p>\n
